Leukotrienes which are arachidonic acid metabolites are known to play a role in the pathogenesis of many diseases. Epidermal hyperproliferation, adhesion, chemotaxis, migration and degranulation of polimorphonuclear leukocytes, edema and hyperemia due to increased vascular permeability are examples of leukotrienes' biological effects. We have reviewed the role of leukotrienes in the inflammatory skin diseases such as psoriasis, urticaria, atopic dermatitis, Behçet's disease and the importance of anti-leukotriene agents in dermatology.
Keywords: Leukotrienes, psoriasis, atopic dermatitis, urticaria, Behçet's diseaseBir araşidonik asit metaboliti olan lökotrienlerin, bir çok hastalığın etyopatogenezinde rol aldığı bilinmektedir.
