Tinea incognito is used to describe dermatophyte infections that diagnosed incorrectly and treated with topical or systemic corticosteroids. Four patients with dermatophyte infections in various localizations (abdomen, gluteal region, hand-face, and periorbital region) are presented. All had a history of treatment with steroids. Microscobic examination revealed hyphae and spores. All patients responded to topical antimicotic treatment.
