Photo(chemo)therapy for Atopic Dermatitis

Atopic dermatitis is an inflammatory skin disease with a chronic relapsing course. The benefical effects of ultraviolet light on atopic dermatitis has been appreciated for many years. Along with topical and systemic treatment,photo(chemo)therapy is one of the three fundamental alternatives for managing atopic dermatitis. While broadband UVB and psoralen UVA (PUVA) have been the mainstay of phototherapy more new modalities including UVA-1 and narrow-band UVB have been used succesfully in recent years.

Atopik Dermatitte Foto(kemo)terapi

Atopik dermatit kronik yineleyici karakterde inflamatuvar bir hastalıktır. Ultraviyolenin atopik dermatit üzerindeki olumlu etkisi uzun yıllardan beri bilinmektedir. Foto(kemo)terapi bugünatopik dermatit tedavisinde topikal ve sistemik tedavilere eklenen üçüncü ana tedavi seçeneği konumunundadır. Geniş bant UVB psoralen-UVA (PUVA) fototerapi yöntemlerine son yıllarda eklenen UVA-1 ve darbant UVB ile de tedavide başarılı sonuçlar elde edilmektedir.
