The specific dermatoses of pregnancy

The specific dermatoses of pregnancy are composed of pruritic, heterogenous group of diseases that are not defined clearly and encountered only during pregnancy and postpartum period. The terminology of these dermatoses is highly complex and different nomenculature is used for the same clinical presentations.
The results of recent investigations regarding spesific dermatoses of pregnancy show that there was misdiagnosis in definition and classification of these diseases as a result of underestimation of intrahepatic cholestasis and atopic egzematous lesions in pregnancy. Although it is criticized in some aspects, Ambros-Rudolph et al in their study which is published in 2006 present a new classification of these diseases that make the understanding easier. In this report the specific dermatoses of pregnancy are encountered according to new classification.

Gebeliğe özel dermatozlar, yalnızca gebelik ve postpartum dönemde görülen, iyi tanımlanmamış, kaşıntılı heterojen bir grup hastalıktan oluşmaktadırlar. Bu dermatozların terminolojisi oldukça karmaşık olup aynı klinik hastalık için birçok farklı isim kullanılmaktadır.
Gebelik dermatozları hakkında yapılan yeni araştırmalardan elde edilen sonuçlar, geçmişte gebelik dermatozları tanımlanırken gebeliğin intrahepatik kolestazı ve gebelikte atopik egzamanın göz ardı edildiğinin ve bu nedenle terminoloji ve sınıflandırılmalarında yanlışlıklar olduğunu düşündürmektedir. Ambros-Rudolph ve arkadaşları tarafından 2006 yılında yayımlanan yeni sınıflama, gebelik dermatozlarının anlaşılmasını kolaylaştırmakla birlikte bazı yönleri nedeniyle eleştiri almıştır.
