Follow-up of Melanoma

The aim of the follow-up studies conducted after the surgical treatment of melanoma is the early detection and treatment of the recurrences and the second primer lesions, to increase the survival rates. Although the necessity of follow-up studies is worldwide excepted, up today there is no consensus on the frequency of follow-up controls. Different follow-up protocols are discussed in this article.

Melanomda Takip

Melanomun cerrahi tedavisinden sonra yapılan takip çalışmalarının amacı, tedavi edilebilecek rekürenslerin ve ikinci primer lezyonların erken saptanıp tedavi edilmesi ve dolayısı ile hastaların yaşam sürelerinin uzatılabilmesidir. Takibin gerekliliği tüm dünyada kabul edilmektedir. Ancak üzerinde tartışılan konu, takibin ne kadar süreceği ve kontrollerin ne sıklıkta yapılacağıdır. Bu yazıda, farklı takip protokolleri gözden geçirilmiştir.
